Chris Downer

CEO

Chris founded Downer Brothers while attending Babson College, where he studied entrepreneurship and captained the lacrosse team. After graduating, he returned to North Andover to continue the business full-time. He’s also a dedicated youth sports coach and was honored by the Massachusetts House of Representatives for his commitment to local athletics. Chris enjoys spending downtime with Nicole and their daughters hiking, skiing, or relaxing along the Maine coast.

Nicole Downer

President & Landscape Designer

Nicole holds degrees from Colgate and Boston University and brings over 20 years of industry experience. She joined Chris in growing the company after leaving a career in education. A certified master gardener, Nicole is passionate about helping clients enjoy their landscapes as fully as she enjoys her own outdoor spaces with family and friends.

Nick Amoroso

Operations Manager & Sales

Nick helps team members hit goals and oversees client properties with a focus on quality and efficiency. With two decades of landscape and snow industry experience, he’s held leadership roles across maintenance, construction, irrigation, and equipment operations. Outside work, he’s happiest skiing or snowmobiling with his family.

Joe Spaulding

Construction Sales & Project Manager

Joe ensures every project runs smoothly from design to completion while building long-term client relationships. With decades of experience in hardscape and masonry, including owning his own company, Joe specializes in large-scale residential installations. He’s a certified equipment operator and ICPI/NCMA installer, and enjoys coaching youth football and playing music.

Landscape Designer & Environmental Planning Manager

Angie brings more than 20 years of experience to her role helping clients turn ideas into actionable plans. With a strong background in sustainable building, permitting, and environmental planning—and dual master’s degrees in Landscape Architecture and Urban & Environmental Planning—she’s led projects ranging from large-scale master plans to detailed construction documents. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, tennis, pickleball, and hiking with her dog.

Kerry Morrison

Customer Care & Office Manager

Kerry brings sharp scheduling skills and attention to detail to every service visit, helping clients feel informed, organized, and supported from start to finish. With 3 years at DBL and a background in running girls’ sports programs at Andover Youth Services, she understands how to manage moving parts with precision and care. Outside the office, Kerry enjoys tennis, skiing, and hiking.

Kelly Redman

Controller

Kelly supports clients with invoicing and contract questions, drawing from 30+ years of experience in accounting and finance across industries like engineering and landscaping. She joined DBL in 2020 and holds a BS in Accounting, an MBA, and a CIA designation. Kelly enjoys boating, travel, and time with her grandchildren.

Thompson manages project timelines, client communication, and design packages across the design-build process. A recent graduate from UMass Amherst with a degree in Landscape Architecture and Regional Planning, he brings fresh perspective and design skills to the team. Outside of work, Thompson enjoys sketching and playing the drums.

Kyle brings expertise and care to every project, crafting detailed proposals for softscape jobs and providing expert tree pruning services. Since joining DBL in 2021, he has developed a strong reputation for his passion in plant healthcare, specializing in the treatment of shrubs and trees for disease and insect issues. A certified heavy equipment operator and trained in Arborjet technologies, Kyle ensures each job is handled with precision. Outside of work, he volunteers with a local non-profit focused on biodiversity and climate change awareness.

Laura Mangan

Horticulture Division & Training Manager

Laura brings deep horticultural expertise and a passion for education to her role, overseeing horticultural services for DBL clients and managing company-wide staff training. With more than 20 years of experience creating and maintaining fine gardens across Greater Boston, she specializes in garden renovation, restorative pruning, and container design. Laura holds multiple industry certifications, including MCLP, MCH, and AOLCP, reflecting her commitment to excellence and organic land care. Outside of DBL, she enjoys exploring art, traveling, and visiting historical properties.
